EA Play Box One-Month Pass: EA Games offers a monthly or yearly subscription service, which replaces the old EA Access and Origin Access passes. This mode of the service offers one-calendar-month of access to a vast array of back catalogue games. About EA Play Box One-Month Pass

When you take out your subscription it is for a month at a time: so, if you begin your month on the 16th of any month, it will run until midnight on the 15th of the following month, and so on. The price for each month is set, and this makes it easy to budget for your gaming expenses – and if you can’t afford it one month, you can let your subscription lapse until you are back in funds once more.

If you need to actively cancel you monthly payment, but do not want to lose any of the time remaining on the current month, for which you have paid, there is a facility in the setting where you can tick a box to unsubscribe at the end of the current session, a very useful feature if you are forgetful and broke!

The subscription service can be accessed by PC owners as well as PlayStation and Xbox users – as long as the latter have PlayStation 4 or 5 or Xbox One or Xbox X/S. Console owners can only access the games developed or published by EA themselves, but PC users can enjoy some niche indie offerings alongside the regular back catalogue.

The Nitty Gritty

The EA Play system can be accessed two ways by PC gamers: through your internet browser and logging into the Origin store (EA’s equivalent of an app store), or via Steam, if you have a Steam account.

Once you have accessed your free ten-hour session on new releases, you will have to either pay to purchase the fill game, or wait until it makes it onto the list.

As well as access to the immense back catalogue, you will also enjoy member’s benefits, in-house competitions to win games, loot, DLC, points packs and more. You also benefit from a ten percent discount on any purchases you make from EA Games during your one month period. Any DLC downloaded during your subscription remain yours forever, even if you cancel.

NB: Do note that special offers differ between the various consoles, so do check that your preferred bonus is available on your PC or console before you commit to it!

A very short sampling of some of the games on offer with your monthly subscription are:

  • Alice: Madness Returns
