From the depths of darkness, a dragon soars.

A new dark fantasy Three Kingdoms action RPG from Team NINJA, the developers of Nioh.

184 AD, Later Han Dynasty China. The land is overcome by chaos and destruction. The imperial dynasty that prospered for many years is now about to collapse.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.

Wo Long refers to a crouching dragon, and also refers to a hero or person of greatness who is not yet known. This is the story of officers, who will later become heroes, during their ‘unknown’ period, and also the story of a protagonist’s rise from being a ‘nobody’.

Demons in the Kingdom
A dark fantasy set during the chaotic Three Kingdoms period, the narrative vividly tells the tale of a militia soldier’s strenuous fight for survival during a Later Han Dynasty infested with demons. It’s madness in the Three Kingdoms like never before!

Awaken the Power Within
Defeat deadly enemies to boost morale and awaken the power from within! Overcome adversity through unique new strategies, including battle styles based on the “Five Phases”.

Live by the Sword
Renowned for ruthless strikes that can change the tide of battle in an instant, sword practitioners of the Chinese martial arts gracefully change pace as they shift between offensive and defensive maneuvers. Overwhelm opponents with a flurry of force in a series of intense and bloody battles while learning the precision and skill necessary to become a true master of the sword.

Various Play Styles with Weapons and Wizardry Spells
-Weapons
Choose from a wide variety of weapons, from glaives to dual swords, to discover which fits your fighting style.
-Wizardry Spells
This secret art draws upon the power of the Five Phases, which allow for attacks using such elements as flames and ice. Upon achieving higher Morale Ranks, you can gain the ability to utilize even more powerful Wizardry Spells.
-Divine Beasts
Divine Beasts like Zhuque and Baihu are brought forth through alliances with other warriors. By calling upon these Divine Beasts, you are able to perform feats of great power.

Character Creation
The player's appearance can be freely set.
Select from a wide variety of settings and use accessories to create your own unique protagonist.

You can also download all of the equipment and missions from collaborations with "NARAKA: BLADEPOINT," "Lies of P," and "Nioh 2."

First pre-order on IG and all I can say is it was an extremely great experience!

The game itself is a nice mix of Nioh with Sekiro elements, and is super fun and challenging to play on controller! :)
  • Great gameplay
  • Challenging but not too difficult
  • Character creation!!!
  • Keyboard and mouse issues (I play on controller though)
  • Apparent pc performance issues (I haven't experienced this)
Naraka Bladepoint and Souls genre Combined fun game definetly not polished and not good with kb & m with controller everything good if you have no games to play and some money to waste this will be a good option for you
  • Combat
  • Movement
  • Story
  • Graphics are okay

I was hyped about Wo Long Fallen Dynasty since its first reveal months ago. And since then, I wanted to play the game so bad.

Now the production from Team Ninja is out, so it's good or not ?

Warning

Let's straight to the point before everything:

You got PS5 ? Buy on this platform. PC version Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is plagued with performance issues. I've a high-end computer and I got slight frame drops even with some settings too low, but the game is playable.

Let's hope that the studio will release a patch asap.

Do you want to play Wo Long Fallen Dynasty on PC ? Well, try the demo first and you see by yourself if your PC can handle the game.

I'll recommend doing that before spent 60-70€ on Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. I tried the demo on PS5 and the experience was a bit better.

My trip to China

Beside those issues, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is an amazing game. It will not easy but if you play any Nioh, you'll be not lost. As you know, the game is demanding and some encounters (as boss) are difficult.

Furthermore, if you played Sekiro before you'll know how parry is important and it's the same in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. In this latter, you can parry EVERYTHING. So you have to learn that mechanic pretty quickly.

Once you get used to it, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is pure fun. Obviously, the parrying is mandatory but you have a lot of options while fighting. Like summoning spirits as Nioh 2, use a plenty of tools and make your own build.

The art direction is awesome but the visuals are quite poor. I cannot say Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is a current-gen game, more than last-gen actually. But it works well and immersive for me. Also, I recommend to play with Chinese audio for more immersion.

Do I recommend ?

Yes. Even the game state is in a pretty bad shape right now, I found Wo Long Fallen Dynasty enjoyable and fun. As big fan of Sekiro, I'm glad to find back my feeling I had.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of players who have performance problems with this game. As you can see with Steam reviews.

Just buy the game and play under 2 hours to be refund eligible or as I said, try the Steam demo first.

And yes, a controller is STRONGLY advised, don't even to try with keyboard and mouse.
  • Ancient China
  • Gameplay
  • Performance
It's really bad. Massive downgrade from Nioh and Nioh 2, this is an L from team ninja and it will be hard to come back from this even after one of worst PC launches ever and most of the problems are fixed.
  • I played it on gamepass
  • Looks like a 10 year old console game
  • The levels are awful
  • Weapons all play the same apart from minor speed ajustments
