Description

Work hard and play hard with animal friends and your own stretch of land in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack. Raise, train, and form special bonds with majestic horses that are customizable members of your family. You can also care for mini sheep and mini goats, or make a living selling homemade Nectar. Carve out your own unique life on the ranch.

KEY FEATURES

  • Make a Life — Get up early in the morning, look out at the big open countryside, and know that all your work is worth it. Spend your days keeping your animals happy and clean, harvesting Prairie Grass to feed them, collecting Horse Manure to fertilize your plants, and making your own Nectar to sell. Do it all on a ranch you design, whether that means a traditional cabin or a big red barn.

  • Bond with Animals — Fill your ranch with animal friends and carve out a life together. Your horses — including adorable foals — are part of your household and have lots of special interactions with both Sims and other horses. You can also care for mini goats and mini sheep, and invite neighbors to come see how cute they are.

  • Join a Thriving Community — Living on a ranch has its moments of peace and solitude, but there’s also a lively social scene. Your Sims can go into town to meet friends at the bar, blow off steam at the dance hall, or train at the equestrian park. They can also host events like cookouts and dances on their own property, and hire a ranch hand to help when the work builds up.

  • Raise Horses — Horses are part of the family. Customize hoofed friends in Create a Sim, or get new horses by rescuing or purchasing them. Foals can also be born on your ranch. Sims can learn the Riding skill, and horses can train in the Agility and Jumping skills. Skilled horses and riders can even win awards at the equestrian center.

Not much gampleay came for an expansion pack. Just something you can play with for a few hours until realizing it wasn't worth it. Recommend getting Cottage Living instead for an animal experience!!!!
  • Good build/buy objects
  • Cute horses, goats, and sheep
  • CAS fit the theme
  • Very underwhelming gameplay
  • Too much set dressing
  • Ghost town in the main center
I found this pack to be quite fun, and sure you can have a lot of fun playing around with it, but after a few hours you can pretty much call it a day cause you will see all the new content within 1 and a half hour or 2 hours...

Horses are very easy to maintain, but it gets pretty repetitive to take care of them, you have very little option to do with them honestely, you just train them, feed them, socialize with them, and thats it, the horse competitions are not playable, they're rabbit holes, which feels like a big rip off coming from a pack that is focused on horses... besides that you also can take care of mini goats and mini sheep which are the same as taking care of rabbits and birds from the ''The Sims 4 Cottage Living Expansion Pack''.

There's also a new skill to make Nectar, which is basecly the same gameplay as ''The Sims 3 World Adventures'' is quite fun aswell but... after you play it for a while at the first time, it can be very easily ignored, cause its pretty much the same thing over and over: ( Make necter - sell nectar - make nectar - drink nectar - make necter - sell nectar ) you get my point.

And thats pretty much the pack, my honest opinion... doesn't feel like a Expansion Pack to be, I would recommend waiting for the price to go lower, cause you can play throw this pack VERY FAST. I hope this help some of you making a decision of the pack.
  • - New open world which is SUPER BIG for Sims 4 standards
  • - New pets which is obviously Horses and mini goats and sheeps
  • - Very easy to explore all the new content within 2 hours or less
  • - Lack of Overhaul NEW Gameplay
  • - Lack of Gameplay Interactivity (Ex: Playable Horse Races and Competitions, etc)
I'm glad I bought this here for the value of a Game Pack, because whoa-nelly, that's exactly what this is, priced as an Expansion Pack. Nice to have horses again in the Sims but... it's very "meh".

The competitions aren't interactive like they were in the previous Sims title. It's a little popup box that you get to use your *imagination* to figure out what's going on, and the winning is based on RNG. You can't even build training courses for the horses to practice on like you could in TS3, they can only practice on one object at a time.

If you compare all the animal packs TS4 has to TS3, it's very sadly obvious that EA views TS4 as nothing but a Cash Cow to milk every single dollar out of its playerbase with split up packs involving specific aspects that were normally included as *part* of an expansion in previous titles.

Cats and Dogs = $40, My First Pet Stuff = $10, Horse Ranch = $40. $90 total to get only half of what TS3 gave for $20. TS4 has not included reptiles or birds in any of their animal related packs and I'm convinced they're gonna do it eventually as lackluster stuff packs or kits.
  • Create Horses
  • Great Soundtrack
  • Nice CAS/Build+Buy
  • Pricing
  • Empty Worlds/Set Dressing
  • Underwhelming Gameplay
Not a good DLC.

Yes horses, yes nectar, that's all.

It won't add any depth to your game, the majority of the buildings are just rabbit holes and the new mechanics are full of bugs.

yet another unfinished overpriced product
  • nothing really
  • Poor gameplay content
While Horses and Chestnut Ridge initially promised a captivating equestrian experience, it ultimately falls short of its potential. As someone who isn't deeply invested in horse culture, I purchased this expansion pack primarily for storytelling purposes. However, at its full price, the gameplay content doesn't justify the cost.

The Western theme, while perhaps appealing to some, didn't resonate with me. I envisioned a more modern and elegant setting, perhaps inspired by the Hamptons or the world of equestrian competitions. A suburban landscape with vineyards would have created a more affluent and competitive atmosphere, aligning with a golf club feeling and the equestrian old-money aesthetic.

The world map itself, while visually appealing, felt somewhat generic and reminiscent of previous packs like Strangerville or Oasis Springs. A greener, more picturesque environment would have better complemented the equestrian theme.

While I appreciate the nectar-making skill and a few individual items, the overall aesthetic leans heavily towards the Western/Cowboy style. For those seeking a more versatile expansion pack, Cottage Living offers a wider range of universally usable content, including additional animals.

The horses themselves are beautifully rendered, but the high-pitched sound they emit is a minor annoyance. Additionally, the build-buy items primarily cater to the Western theme, limiting their usefulness in other builds.

In conclusion, Chestnut Ridge had the potential to be a truly exceptional expansion pack. However, its missed opportunities in terms of setting, theme, and gameplay ultimately leave it feeling somewhat underwhelming. But you can buy it here on sale as I did.
  • Nectar-making
  • amazing horses, cute goats and sheeps
  • I wish I would have something else to add ;)
  • Rabbit - Hole for Competiton
  • Ghost Town Atmosphere - guess there is a reason why they are no sims, lol just like in real life!
  • Extremley underwehlming gameplay - bored after 30 min.
the animation for the horses is amazing, I really like the style of the items and the clothes, also the new world is beautiful - i just hope the gameplay aspect doesn't become repetitive with time, we'll see.
Honestly, the only reason WHY I'm leaving this with a positive review is because we finally have horses; and the fact that I bought this game through IG.

The horses are actually nice and well done. I like the fact that we actually have a canter option when riding, instead of just a straight trot to gallop like we did in TS3. Customizing stables and stalls is a really nice addition, and a lot of the new items and build pieces are nice as well. Nectar making is also the easiest way to make money, by far, but at least there are a couple mods that makes horse training and breeding a bit more profitable as well.

However, I'm absolutely disappointed that the developers didn't bother to implement a jump course setup like we had in TS3. One jump at a time? Really? As an equestrian who rode hunters/jumpers for years, this felt like a letdown. It's also a bit annoying how the barrel racing isn't even on a barrel pattern, and I miss the interactive aspect of the competitions.

Like someone else here said, this feels more like a game pack than an expansion. With other game packs, we got so much more than this has offered. I mean, I'm still annoyed about the jump system not extending to a full course; you have to use mods in order for it to (granted, those mods work really well and I highly recommend them).

If you want this pack for the horses and only the horses, don't waste the money on EA. Just get it here for the price of a game pack (or less if the deal is there).
  • Horses
  • Decent CAS Items
  • Nice Build+Buy Items
  • Overpriced
  • Lackluster World
  • Jump Courses severely lacking

It’s a good pack just wished there was more things to do and probably a new job for sims to work at
Hi! About to purchase this pack on this website! I have bought from here before, when I bought the Island Living pack (For ts4.) So, I have high hopes this pack will run smoothly and work properly! Just waiting for a Re-Stock, anybody know how long it will take?
Les Sims 4 Vie au Ranch" offers an engaging ranch lifestyle with detailed horse care, farm tasks, and community events. The expansive new content and rural charm make it a delightful expansion for Sims fans.

Horses are right up my alley and this one delivers. I have been playing this since the day it came out and just so long as your modifications (mods) are updated the game runs fine! I have been adding videoes to yt just for others to see how fun this one is!

I think it all depends if you like horses, sheep, and goats. I have them all at my ranch in Sims 4!
  • Horses what more can be said
  • Have to update mods and cc
Thank you Instant Gaming for another great, fast and easy purchase. I actually tried to buy a key from CD keys and it failed, couldn't process my order for whatever reason.

I will always go back to IG for game codes. Thanks again!
