For the current price of £21.22, it is an absolute must buy for the casual fighting game player. If you can look past the awkward character designs and cheesy story, therein lies a truly amazing fighter.
  • Exhilarating Gameplay.
  • The characters that did make the roster are mostly well realised.
  • Great Netcode.
  • Aggresively accessible while still respecting the player, allowing them to turn off the added accessibility features.
  • Infinity Stones lead to interesting situations in-game that test your ability to adapt as a player.
  • No real support for non-16:9 resolutions.
  • Lackluster roster compared to what came before.
  • Some characters look like freaks of nature. The graphics at times evoke the aesthetic of the PS3 era.
  • Long and frequent loading screens in Story Mode.

Given how terrible Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite looked during development, I had extremely low expectations for this.

Yes, the visuals are sub-par at best, yes, the roster is kind of lame, especially on the Marvel side, and yes, there isn't much single player content.

But at the end of the day, none of that really matters. What matters is how fun the game is, and, how well it runs. As it turns out, it's very, very fun. The game mechanics are wide open and pretty much allow you to do whatever you want, which is fantastic.

Surprisingly, Capcom also finally managed to write good netcode. Actually, it's not just good, it's great. Maybe not quite on par with Killer Instinct (which is as good as it gets as far as fighting game netcode is concerned), but it's actually quite close, and years ahead of the garbage that was Street Fighter V's netcode.

After Street Fighter V, it's very hard for the fighting game community to admit that Capcom can still make a good fighting game. But they did. This game has great game mechanics, and great online, which is ultimately all that really matters.
