Description

Destiny 2 is an online only multiplayer first person shooter game that rather defies categorisation. It is the sequel to Destiny and its various expansion packs, detailed below, and is set in a mythical science fiction world, and boasts a large, shared sandbox world which encompasses many elements of role playing games.

About the Game

In the game, you are a Guardian, one of the protectors of the last safe city on Earth, using Light (which is ‘good space magic’, basically) to protect humans from invading aliens and the encroaching Darkness (as might be guessed, ‘bad space magic’!) This battle between Light and Dark plays out over the course of the game, being more deeply explored in the various expansion packs, released after the core game’s debut.

The expansion packs for Destiny 2 are: Curse of Osiris 2017; Warmind 2018, Forsaken 2018, Shadowkeep 2019; New Light (which is a remake of D2, including the first two packs as free content); Beyond Light 2020 which introduced the players to the power of Darkness; and soon to come along are: The Witch Queen (TBA); Lightfall (TBA) this is a working title, and might change before release. The Light and Darkness Saga (TBA) will round things off.

In customisation, you will first choose your class from Hunter, Warlock or Titan, (see more about their attributes below). Once you have chosen your class, you are faced with three more choices between Human (a regular person), an Awoken (they are descendants of the original humans and have bluish-grey skin) or Exominds, sometimes shortened to Exos (which are humanoid machines/ sentient androids). Choices made; you are now ready to play.

The Nitty Gritty

Alongside the usual story mission, there are multiple ways to play: strike missions, dungeons and six-player raids amongst them. You can also free-roam at will, picking up public events at each destination as well as other activities over of which show the game’s emphasis on exploration and encouragement of interacting with NPCs (non-playing characters).

Player vs Player (PvP) has objective-based modes, as well as the more traditional Deathwatch games. You can play these PvP games across eleven different maps, finding your friends using the new Clan system, or you can play co-operatively in PvE (player vs environment) games, for which you can play in teams of three. You must earn experience points, known as EXP, in order to upgrade.

Completing the campaign mode is not the end of the game by any means. You can continue to play strikes and raids, and continue to explore the four destinations on the map seeing the bits you missed the first time around, fleshing out more details about the characters you met and picking up more rewards and EXP.

The game’s strong storylines, and detailed expansion packs add to these story arcs, or have their own equally compelling narrative arcs leading off from the main campaign, which makes for immersive play. Do make a point to go back over old ground once you’ve powered up significantly as loot powers up along with you and you will find new, powerful rewards.

Fans of the original game will be delighted to return to the Cosmodrome, a location from that first game – explore everywhere enjoying the nostalgia, or just to get your hands on some good gear. But that is easier said than done as all the worlds are huge!

Go Classy!

Choose from one of the following three classes:

  • Warlocks: create magical weapons, offer healing and empowering auras in which players can stand

  • Hunters: master all sorts of weapons from fiery throwing knives and electric staffs to knives that allow x-ray vision and more

  • Titans: use hammers to unleash earthquakes and tornados or create a protective barrier that lets your team fire through while blocking enemy fire

  • Destiny 2 is an immersive game that will pull you in and keep you engaged as you explore detailed and fascinating worlds, fight your way to the top and succeed in your mission.

played destiny years ago, got back on it a couple months ago and it wasnt too bad, no major problems from first glance. a couple months later they bring out an update, ever since i have tried to do the update 3-4 times and every time it says "error, this game needs a complete reinstall" corrupted files from update or some bs. i have reinstalled it twice and every time the same message pops up. now the annoying thing is i dont have fast internet, so i sit here and wait literal hours for this game to download, when its done downloading, i load it up and it starts doing the stupid ingame update thing. wait again another hour for this to be done and the same message pops up. so my review, the game itself when it work.

average 6.9/10: idk if it deserves a 7 rating, if the game worked perfectly then maybe a 7 but it doesnt so idk if i can give it a 7. it can get boring after awhile, its really just the same thing over and over again, the guns are fun to use, the abilities are somewhat fun to use too, the storyline is the main good thing about this game, i dont get any dopamine hits from it but i dont wanna kill myself either. if u like hack and slash games this would be a 7.9/10, the guns dont have set recoils so u cant properly learn how to use the guns but if u hit headshots it does big damage and u can just run through mobs.

now: unplayable 1/10. i wouldnt waste money buying or time downloading this game just yet till there is a fix. even so i would probably still wait for a special to come out before buying and downloading

I purchased this game 6 hours ago and still don't have it. It immediately requested access to all my personal information via file upload at which time I ignorantly did so. Said the expected time to process request would be one minute. You do math, I'm not sure about you but 6 hours is just a smidgen longer than 1 minute. I've opened up tickets and gotten zero responses or status changes to the purchase or the tickets. Beginning to wonder if there is anything behind instant gaming other than a public facing site and a man with malicious intent.

Must say this has turned out to be an absolute miserable, jacked up, waste of time, for a first experience with instant gaming. Hell, I would rather have paid the extra $15 getting it from steam then waste my entire evening.

Instant gaming team, if you do exist could you please resolve this issue? If you do so I will update my review accordingly. If you don't, well I guess jokes on me and anyone who's willing to read a review because I will ensure it's blasted everywhere.
    • professional grade waste of time if you're into that
    • all-encompassing
If you like brainless grind with repettitive boring gameplay and absolutely underwhelming development that you owuld expect from an indie company, you would still like other games as this is one of the worst game of this generation.
    • nice graphics
    • boring gameplay
Top notch gameplay. Grafiks are absolutly stunning. Story... It has one.

There is a mode for every multiplayer activity. There is a bit too much fokus on the Cash shop.

If you like shooting and lots of explosions, that just feels so awesome that it dosent matter why you do so, its just the game for you.

Absolutely in love with the game. Remember when I was watching streams of people playing Destiny 1 and I could as didn't/ don't have a console. I was really happy when they announced it for PC. Made so many new friends.
    • Shooter
    • Rich lore
    • Character customization
    • Clans/ Friends
    • PvP is heavy meta oriented and a bit unbalanced
This game, DESTINY 2 was free. I dont know why because is a good game for be played with friends.

    But, The question is:
Why u ar going to play it if Destiny 1 was realised like or 3 years ago.
It looks like Black ops´s games that are the same. Again and again. Always the same/parallel to others.
U will be bored playing not more than 2 hours and u will think it is the same. The same as the firts.

    • New games always is better
    • Shooters are enjoyable
    • fps multiplayer with friends. OK i take it
    • SAME
    • SAME AGAIN
    • AGAIN SAME
    • NO INNOVATION
    • SAME STRUCTURE
I Review this game after playing for 3 days and reached 341 power in hunter. never played a destiny game.
After months reading negative reviews i didnt buy the game i realy regret this. the game is so much fun.

Campain has a good story. another campain Warmind and Orsiris. did not finish these
    • Enjoyable story, Strikes Warmind and Challances
    • Diffrend Character styles options
    • Good Community, helpfull players
    • Map, UI, Character, Shaders disign
    • Easy to know what you are supposed to do
    • Power ammo capacity extreemly low and not every monster drop this sadly. a bit positive for making it a challance
    • Need buy dlc for full game experience. (i did not mind for me was it worth because i realy like this game) i did buy it on battlenet bundle was on discount
    • You get dropped on movement and combat tutorial all other stuff in game you need to find online
Incredibly beautifull game! Very strong story. I also love the open world player co-op objectives. No need to bring friends you can just make them on the go! Only downside is the PvP which is very unbalanced, any beginning player can get matched against a veteran which is incredibly unfair (but this game is not about PvP so not too big an issue)
    • Graphics
    • Open world co-op with random others
    • Good story
    • Unbalanced PvP
Best mmorpg from 2017 best way to comnine to different games like FPS and RPG,Destiny 2 delivers a good gameplay with fun quests,by far one of the best games lately, very fun to play with your friends!
    • Versatile gameplay
    • To little quests
fun game but stilll needs some work. Good storyline compared to the previous game.
No connection issues while playing crucible. New weapons in the new DLC and sadly we have to pay for the DLC to play the heroic strikes compared to the previous game we didn't have to.
    • Good looking graphics
    • Good connection in pvp/pve
    • Good story
    • Lacks endgame content
    • Misses the option to choose gamemode's
    • Have to pay for the DLC to play heroic strikes
Aucune logique. Report.
Overall a good game with a decent story and nice multiplayer modes, also great that you can play everything with up to 2 more friends (more for crucible and raids). They didn't change a lot from the original Destiny game, UI is pretty much the same, classes are the same, characters are the same, enemies are the same,... But that can also be seen negative... I was looking forward to this game, but it's just very expensive DLC of Destiny... I have played it like a week or so and got tired of it bc it looks so much like the first game, and I was so looking forward to this one! :( It's not bad at all don't get me wrong, but literally everything you saw in Destiny, will be back here.
    • Story
    • Uncapped FPS
    • Graphics are nice
    • Expensive DLC for Destiny
    • EVERYTHING is the same as the first game...
Excellent fun! Totally for those wanting to play a game with a group of buddies or to join a clan and make some new friends! Looking forward to seeing how the game develops beyond the expansions much like Destiny 1 did.
    • Great Multiplay Features
    • Low Learning Curve
    • Optimized wonderfully
    • Make new friends and shoot villainous aliens in the face!
    • Casual and Competitive PvP
    • Need to switch Game/B.net zones if you wish to play between EU and USA friends
    • Must buy the expansions to really get the full game. (As with Destiny 1)
The game is ok but at endgame the top tier activities do not have matchmaking. So if you're not affiliated with a gang you're stuck grinding low lvl strikes and doing pvp. Although the top tier pvp does not have matchmaking either.
Also very little variety in weapons.
    • Gunplay is ok
    • Can hit max lvl and finish story in 1 sitting
    • You can be a female robot.
    • No matchmaking for most endgame content
    • Frequent crashes
    • Shitty skins are consumables
    • Environments seem copy pasted from ME: Andromeda
    • Real money engrams are worthless and overpriced
I received the code very fast and its working, but i have another problem. My installation is stucked at 3.70 giga remaining @ 1.15 mb/s, but the size remains the same for about 2 hours and the installation cant continue.Anyone has any solution?
