Total War: Warhammer II is a real time, turn-based strategy game in the Total War series. There are thirteen main games and four spin-offs in the series, with the first, Shogun: Total War having been released in 2000.
About the Game
Set in fictionalised versions of Africa, America and Britain along with a mythical horseshoe-shaped Elven island, smack-dab in the middle of the Atlantic – nicely placed to break up an awful lot of monotonous sea scenery, but also a useful place to have elves find a home, away from traditionally human habitation.
The game is essentially a battle for control of this island, called Ulthuan, and you can achieve it in one of two ways: brute force or by solving enough quests and meeting enough objectives that you ultimately take control of the great vortex, and sort of magical whirlpool/cyclone.
Playing the latter way makes the game into more of a race as each of the playable species want to control the power contained within the vortex and thus take control of the island – and from there, presumably, the world.
Choose One of Four
You can choose to play as:
Lizardmen: as the name implies, these beings are reptilian, based on dinosaurs and amphibians and demonstrate a Central and Southern American (Mesoamerican/ Aztec) theme in their decoration and dress
High Elves: also known as the Asur, these elves are the original inhabitants of Ulthuan and they are sworn enemies of the Dark Elves. They are very nearly immortal and produce some of the best mages in the game. Their armies are lightly equipped, but their soldiers are quick, brave and nimble
Dark Elves: descended from the Asur, these elves have moved away from the island to Naggaroth in the New World, a cold and forbidding place, much like the souls of the Dark Elves who are vicious, unrelenting and the most evil beings in the game
Skaven: sounding almost more unpleasant than the Dark Elves, Skaven are a race of rat men who thrive on and worship chaos. Like rats, they live in darkness underneath the settlements of the other species, emerging when it seems propitious to do so and taking advantage of whatever presents itself at the time
Storytime
Long ago, the great vortex was created to control the forces of chaos that threatened the world. The vortex acts as a sponge, soaking up the wild magic that would have otherwise wreaked havoc on the world, but it has trapped the mages of long ago within itself as they must continually cast spells to keep the vortex stable.
The Skaven fire a rocket at the vortex, disrupting it and sending alarm through all four factions who respond, heading towards the vortex to see what they can do to restore balance to the world.
Depending on who you are playing as, a ‘win’ takes a different form: Lizardmen and High Elves see harmony restored and the vortex maintained, Dark Elves hijack the power produced to summon their dark king, while the Skaven achieve their aim of producing their own lord of chaos, the Great Horned Rat.
Pick Your Species With Care
Each of the above species offers a different range of pros and cons to the player: Skaven are continually hungry and must keep an eye on supplies and go foraging frequently, while High Elves trade in influence and civilising politics. But Skaven can slip into small spaces and hide, while High Elves prefer to face their enemies on a battlefield. Lizardmen control immense creatures and can go into berserker rages, while Dark Elves can summon floating orbs of dark magic to help them succeed.
All in all, this is an absorbing and exciting game with enough battling, exploring and narrative interest for any player to remain hooked right up until the last enemy is vanquished.
Total War: Warhammer II is available for purchase on Instant Gaming for a fraction of its retail price. You will receive an official key and be able to play the game in seconds. Play smart. Pay less.
Great Game and much better detailed in lots of game mechanics than the first part of the game! Was hesitating to have it buyed due to its different setup as I was playing till this point of time only Total War's with a bit of historical background instead of fanatsy but after the first few hours in the game I really like it!

Tactical battles are amazing, both in looks and scale of armies, but the thing that kills it for me is the constant pressure to rush somewhere and build armies ASAP, otherwise you get stomped fast. What I relly like is if you have the first game as well you can get this huge map-playground to explore.
Game that you will play for months
Can't turtle it up(personal preference)

Just perfect.
The best UI and mechanics I have ever seen in total war games. Some settings heavily decrease performance without having a significant graphic improvement. Multiplayer battles and campaign.
Simple UI
Updates every month

You have to buy Warhammer 1 to unlock another gamemode

Such an awsome game used so abusively by the developers. 4 years and still the same price. Millions of DLCs, I still remember when developers used to sell finished games and then maybe 1 or 2 expansions to complete it a year or so later
Amazing game
Armed robery. We shouldnt support this kind of behavior

Best storyline ever.
The developers worked hard on the unit's physics.
I have a lot of positive point about the game.
I can say that, I'm very happy about this game, because I love the warhammer world.

I really love it! Very super fantasy strategy game! There are a lot of heroes and factions in the game that makes the world of warhammer amazingly enjoyable! Long play time is sure, but worth it. I can only recommend it to everyone, even playing with a friend.

Great Game.
This is an excellent continuation to the series picking right up where the first Total War: Warhammer left off.
The dev's have listened to the fans and created the best game they could improving on the first in every way possible.

just to start off, the game is dirt cheap here. I think steam is still selling it at full price, and here you can get all dlc's and base game for the same price. the game is good and highly recommended. it is a huge improvement from the last game
alsmost a steal

I would say its a pretty legit game. When I started playing I was so confused but then I started to understand the campaign better and the rest followed. Recommend cause of the variety of fantasy races.

If you love Warhammer and TW you gonna buy both games WH1 and WH2, you gonna get a lot for your money especially if you're buying cheap keys on trusted sites. There's absolutely no reason not to have both of those.
- Sandbox feel of the game with Mortal Empires
- Old world is mainly unchanged.

What can I say about this game.
It's really good so far. Better than the first version.
It allows to play on a gigantic map with all factions from this game and from the first one.
I indeed recommend this series of games to anyone who enjoys warhammer.

Total War is an amazing franchise. For those of you unaware, Total War games take place in 2 parts. One part is on a giant map where you control your army; it is like a board game phase where you can trade, negotiate, etc. The other part is the combat phase with RTS style battle. A lot of people are put off by RTS thinking that they have to be very quick with a high APM to enjoy, but that is not the case with the Total War games, where the emphasis is on your strategizing skills.
Going into the game, I was a bit skeptical thinking that this would just be the same as the first one with little additions as Total War: Warhammer was already a really good game, but I was blown away by the sequel. The most notable new feature the special vortex effect is a game changer. The story is that the Elves have broken the Vortex, making it vulnerable, and now all the factions are trying to get control of it for power. To gain control of it, you must perform 5 rituals. You have to complete a few tasks to start a ritual and must protect the location for a while until it is over. But at the same time, the other factions are also trying to perform the rituals, so you have to stop them.
Total War: Warhammer 2 also features some new factions like Tomb Kings, Skaven, Dark Elves. One of them, the High Elves, work very differently from the other factions. They gather influence points, and use it to break up ties between factions. Some players didn’t enjoy this as much, but I thought it was a very interesting addition to the game. The game rarely feels the same in multiple playthroughs with different factions, and always keeps things fresh and exciting.
There aren’t many faults with the game. In fact, I can’t really think of any issues with the game. The game feels incredibly polished. What’s more, even people who don’t play a lot of RTS games will enjoy this as it also has RPG elements from the Vortex quests. They are also giving a free map to the people who own both games that combines the 2 maps. It will have around 100 groups belonging to the 8 races. Again, the custom matches are there with with many options to play around with. You can just enjoy battle after battle with changing scenarios through that for endless fun. The game is also optimised amazingly well! There really isn’t anything to fault in this game!
I enjoyed the game thoroughly. The campaign has a lot of content and many hours of playtime without feeling padded. Plus, there is a lot of fun to be had in custom battles and co-op with a friend.
Creative Assembly could have easily passed off a copy of the first game with a few changes and it would have still been a great game, but they didn’t. Adding new features to the stellar first game, Total War: Warhammer 2 is an incredible game that surpassed our expectations with its high level of polish and fully fleshed out new features. Like the last game, Total War: Warhammer 2 is welcoming to newcomers without losing the depth of its gameplay. It is an amazing game and a must buy if you are a fan of the genre or the first game, and at the very least deserves to be tried out if you are interested in RTS or grand strategy games. Go out and get this masterpiece ASAP!

Well it's a huge improvement on the first one, which was already a really really great game. Especially now, when the combined map came out. With so much potential out there and with future DLC this could easily be 100% game...
Huge variety of factions
Improved over the first game in every way
Lore bending

almost the same gameplay with the first game but the big difference now is that there is no race conquer restrictions! as most of may have discover from various reviews the game seems more like an expensive expansion rather than a sequel to the warhammer series
no race conquer restrioction
almost same gameplay
feels like an expansion rather a sequel of the series

Epic game. It is a must for people who played total war warhammer. Far more better optimalised then the first total war warhammer. Better graphics, gameplay, epic battles and that big campaing if you have both warhammer games is absolute nuts.

Les races manquantes
nouveaux contenus donc !
amélioration / modifications de l'interface
nouvel objectif !
introduction à la campagne bien faite
