For the price, you can't go wrong with this game—action shooter gameplay. ARPG perspective, but not an RPG. Upgrades for weapons and gear are not loot drops. You upgrade with the money you find in the game. The main gameplay loop is to explore the level killing bad guys. Puzzles include "you need this key card" or "find some valve or terminal to shut this off." This is where the backtracking comes in. Pretty basic, but fun gameplay.
