An average game that is best enjoyed with friends, but not ones that have played it before as they will just be waiting for you to catch up and you wont get chance to enjoy it as much.
finally a game made for girls, dark, gritty and full of blood with excellent atmospheric world building and the kind of difficult that makes men cry because they can't finish and we won't help.
  • dark souls, made for girls
Unless you have done an extensive research before or you have a mentor next to you, starting the game is like getting a job as a rocket scientist with a degree of a high school drop out. No maps, no compass, no hints, no help, nothing. You are left to your own devices.

But this is what makes this game special. It is extremely satisfying when you finally figure out its mechanics and you will forever remember the pleasure of finally slaying your first boss. The game is long and torturous you can easily sink frustrating 40-50 hours in it.

And yes, prepare to die. A lot. Seen that movie "Edge of Tomorrow?" That pretty much sums up the gameplay.

While we are not looking at BF4 level graphics, DS2 still offers a detailed and mesmerizing (but often dark and horrifying) world without requiring you to sell a kidney for a video card.

I have not tried the multi-player part of it so I am not qualified to make a comment (but there is plenty of reviews out there on this).

But it is not perfect. In fact there is one major blunder that almost ruined it for me: it is a horrible port from XBOX. The controls are all displayed in xbox language and keyboard/mouse mapping is garbage. There is a slight delay when using the mouse and this is very frustrating especially in combat.

At the moment the game is being offered at €14, but prepared to throw in another €20 for an xbox controller if you don't have it. This is a MUST. But if you want to make it even more difficult that it is, it's completely up to you.

If you can get over that (I did), you have a lot of time on your hand, and into inflicting pain to your brain, then purchase this game.

This game brings the gamer personality out of the players. It has good immersion and great graphics. Although at some cases it may require you have a powerful machine to run it at full graphics, that doesn't mean that you won't have fun without maximizing your graphic settings.

They way this game keeps you in edge so as to not die in a single second is breathtaking. It pushes your limits of concentration and rewards you for it. After beating a very difficult part in the game, before you know it you will be pumping your fists in the air and announcing youself the king of Dark Souls.

While the gameplay, both single and multiplayer is really good with a lot of action, the storyline is also extremely beautiful. With the way they represent your character in game, it makes you feel like the most important person there, managing in this way to put the player in the character's position.

As far as the multiplayer aspect of the game. Yes, sometimes you may be frustrated by the unfair, perhaps, powerfull spells your opponent uses, or you might find yourself against a more advanced player. The fact though is that the fun never dies.
Even if PVP is not your best, co-oping with other players to take down some of the strongest bosses in gaming history will still make you exited.

Bottom line is, Dark Souls 2 is a great game with a lot of replayability value, so much so that it rewards you with better items the more you play.

So, if you are looking for an immersive game, with great action combat, beautiful sceneries and RPG elements, Dark Souls 2 is your game.
