Prey: Mooncrash is an ambitious roguelike expansion for Prey (2017) that adds a fresh twist to the immersive sim genre. Instead of a linear story, it features a simulated moonbase where players control multiple characters, each with unique abilities and objectives. Every run changes due to dynamic enemies, hazards, and limited resources, forcing players to adapt. The interconnected nature of characters and their progress adds depth, making each run feel rewarding. While it’s an excellent blend of Prey’s mechanics with roguelike elements, the repetitiveness and steep learning curve may not appeal to everyone.
  • Unique roguelike twist on immersive sim gameplay
  • Multiple characters with distinct abilities
  • Dynamic, ever-changing runs keep it fresh
  • Can feel repetitive after multiple runs
  • High difficulty curve may frustrate some players
  • Storytelling is less prominent than in Prey (2017)
