Description

Assetto Corsa Competizione is the car racing fan’s video game all about authentic feeling racing, covering everything from tyre temperatures to aerodynamism and all the minutiae that can make the split-second difference between winning and losing.

About the Game

This game is the official race of Blancpain GT Racing, and is officially licenced by Blancpain. This means that the tracks and vehicles feel authentic, and all the data generated within the game can even be enough to help the engineers and mechanics with innovations that will help real world cars improve their racing performance.

The player’s experience is designed to feel as real as possible with a range of weather conditions, accurate visibility and minutely detailed instrument panel: you will almost feel as though you are in a real car – and racing for the win.

What is Blancpain GT Racing

This type of racing is not nearly as popular or well-known as its close cousins, Formula One and MotoGP, but it enjoys a popular following amongst those who are passionate about Grand Touring races.

The full title is the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, and the contest gets its name from its main sponsor, luxury watch manufacturer Blancpain (headquarted in Switzerland, Blancpain is the worlds oldest surviving watchmaking company, having been incorporated in 1735. Their watches are owned by people as diverse as Russian leader Vladimir Putin and American movie star Brad Pitt.

The races in the series tend towards endurance races, with differences between the cars carefully assessed and allowances or weightings made to even these out – much like handicapping in horse racing. This is to give every driver the opportunity to win their races on their skill alone, rather than relying on superior engine power or design innovations.

Seven Races to Try

Within the game, there are seven races to choose from, depending on what you want to try and how much time you have on your hands. The earlier races can be looked at as a sort of training ground for the later ones where you will need serious skills, stamina and endurance to get yourself over the finish line with a place:

  • Free Practice: as it sounds, get to grips with your machine, and it is sure to be a sweet ride. Choose from Ferraris, Lamborghinis and more high-end cars, all tuned to speedy perfection for the ride of your life

  • Hot Lap: a very short intensive race against AI competition, these rounds take literally a minute or two and can exhilarate or terrify you!

  • Superpole: find out where you rank amongst the competition before you dive in against the big boys (and girls, of course)

  • Hot Stint: a short course intense race, this gives you the chance to spend a bit longer in your vehicle, putting it through its paces for maximum performance

  • Quick Race: an hour or so long, this intense but short form race will give you an idea of the endurance needed for the longer races without you risking missing dinner!

  • Sprint Race Weekend: with this extravaganza you get two practise races, two qualifying time trials and two races, each up to sixty minutes’ long

  • Endurance Race Weekend: don’t make any plans for after this marathon session as you will need a nap or two to recover! You get to test your mettle with two practise races, three qualifying sessions to hone your skills and then one or two day-long (that’s the full twenty-four hour long day) races to aim for the title and a place on the podium

  • Assetto Corsa Competizione is available for purchase on Instant Gaming for a fraction of its retail price. You will receive an official key and be able to play the game in seconds. Play smart. Pay less.

Its all I wished for except for the fact you cannot include AI bots to play along with you and your buddies in online mode like some other racing games allow you to do. This can become a true win/lose point when in the end of the day you just want to do casual gaming with online friends but you are short to fill up the grid gaps.

Again, its a great game. And I have been having a lot of fun with it with my dd pro.
    • Its a Full Gt racing Package; garantee of a lot of fun; works great with my DD pro wheel
    • Impossible to add AI bots in online mode to fill up your private races with friends
Bought the game recently and it wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be. I thought it would be very playable with a controller, but it hasn't been so. If you want this game, make sure you have a steering wheel otherwise it's not worth it.
    • Good UI
    • Good Graphics
    • Not very playable with a controller, requires more a steering wheel.
    VR une catastrophe
    • Bug
I used to play racing game on xbox 360, but now he didn't turn on anymore. Now that i play on computer is another thing, this game is awesome becasue it is so realistic. i think that this game is one of the best racing game.
"Assetto Corsa Competizione is born from KUNOS Simulazioni's long-term experience, and it takes full advantage of Unreal Engine 4 to ensure photorealistic weather conditions and graphics, night races, motion capture animations, reaching a new standard in terms of driving realism and immersion, thanks to its further improved tyre and aerodynamic models."
    • Graphycs
    • Best GT3 simulation around
    • Hard on the GPU
    • Shadows feel strange sometimes
This is *the* ultimate racing sim. Yes, others may have more variety, but none comes even slightly close to the realism in both audio and graphics, and especially the physics. The cars have an incredibly detailed physics model that makes the car behave just like in real life - no wonder professional pilots use this as their training software.

The cars feel real, and thanks to it's industry leading 400hz physics update rate, the cars feel responsive and behave like you expect them to.

The campaign is great to learn to drive and how to go fast, and the multiplayer and community are even better.
    • near-photoreal graphics and true to life physics
    • exellent audio
    • great and helpful community
the game is not so good as i thought its really hard, the mechanics are also weird and the lamborghini u use in the beginning is so weird sometimes its steers very scharp and sometimes it doesnt. This was my review
    • none
    • hard game
    Hi there,

the steam code you gave me didn´t work. I got the error

    Whoops!

    Sorry but,

    that isn't quite right...

Could you please check what went wrong with it and if not can you refund me?

    Thanks

    Alex
Really great game to play on a midrange wheel, the best I have tested until now! For comparison, the Forza Horizon 5 game is ahead in terms of playability and overall content but still very bad on wheel and even with some fiddling around with some settings it is very hard to have a true feeling.
    • Playability with all types of wheels
    • True feeling of the track, kerbs and what the car is actually doing
    • Hard to run on lower end PC's, but great on Medium end PC's
    • Lack of single player content
I have both. The mods in AC are good and you can take a drive in some historic cars etc...its fun.

ACC is just a whole new level. It is a very focused sim and as such is far more advanced. It runs a more advanced physics and aero model with data recieved from the actual manufacturers. Its the most advanced sim for GT3/4 cars available commercially. But, there is obviously more to it than this when it comes to choosing which is right for you.

The racing is always very close - the driver is always the factor in winning or losing, never the car, car setups are easier to understand and more in line with real life setup changes, and there is always good action online - remember the bit with all cars being extremely close (BoP).
