Support took a while to reply to my tickets, but overall, very satisfying experience; exactly what I'd expect from a competently-run web store like this,

The First Tree

If you like calm games where you walk around and enjoy a relaxing, perhaps somewhat sad story that makes you think, then this is the right game for you. Beautiful story ?

Details

Graphics: 4

Not the best graphics, but other aspects of the game make up for it.

Sound/Music: 7

Sad, touching music, very good.

Gameplay: 4

It's running around and collecting stuff scattered in the world while experiencing the story.

Story: 9

I liked the story a lot. It involves multiple characters talking about their lives while you play as a fox and experience its story too. The ending was predictable but still good and sad, even brought out a tear or two.

Controls: 4

The controls are so-so, but they're okay since the focus is more on the story.

Replay Value: 3

You can replay to get all achievements, but personally, one playthrough was enough for me as it's mainly story-focused.

Difficulty: 1

Not difficult at all.

Value for Money: ?

I would say everyone has to decide for themselves. I really like games like this, but for the time, I needed 99 minutes to complete the game. For €10, that's not much. I bought the game on sale with a 90% discount for €0.97, and that was 100% worth it.

Playtime: It took me around 99 minutes to complete the main story.

This game really caught me and my wife by surprise. We honestly had no idea what it was about going into it. No trailers, no description just started it up and wow. (to be clear: we got it as part of a pack of games)

The game is really deep (emotionally) and THE MUSIC, it is outstanding.
The gameplay is super simple although my wife struggled and it was entertaining (gameplay of first 2 levels: youtube.com/watch?v=POxRx3WK5X4

Honestly, we enjoyed the game, my wife is a newer gamer and I basically did backseat gaming with her. The story is about death, and grieving and coming to terms with loss. It's emotional and it's so satisfying for anyone in a relationship because we hear the thoughts from the wife's perspective later on and we were again surprised and excited by that.

If you like your feelings to be jerked and you like to get deep into a story without alot of hard gameplay you should try this game.

Note: The content of this game is probably about 2-4 hours long. So it is a short game, in my opinion, but still profound.
