Description
Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty is a science-fiction real time strategy game. It is a sequel to: the original game, the Brood War series of games, and the first Starcraft sequel, and now also includes a sizeable expansion pack which was released in sections after the original release.
About the Game
This game is set four years after the final Brood War game, during which time the Terrans have become the dominant species in the region. (See below for more on the three species in the games). Jim Raynor is a bitter and cynical human who is concerned that the Terran Dominion has become too powerful, neglecting inter-species watchfulness in favour of subduing and stamping out their enemies.
Raynor is feeling guilt over the disappearance of Sara Kerrigan (some events occurred in the previous game, but enough exposition is given through cut-scenes and voice-overs that new players can follow along readily), and as the story unfolds, he hopes he might be able to enjoy something of a redemption arc.
Raynor gathers together Raynor’s Raiders, a group of like-minded rebels to fight their way out from under Dominion’s thumb. They start their battle on Mar Sara, slowly wresting control from Dominion, meeting the locals and coincidentally finding a piece of a mysterious artefact along the way. The Raiders include a former Dominion psychic assassin (Spectre) called Gabriel Tosh, while Matt Horner is Raynor’s second in command.
Amongst others, they are joined by Ariel Hanson, a researcher on the Zerg and the leader of a small farming community. She is caught between the Zergs who are overrunning the region and the Protoss who are determined to eradicate the Zerg, with the local farmers – her community – caught in the crossfire.
One of their missions is to find the remaining pieces of the mysterious artefact and sell them all on to the equally mysterious Moebius Foundation in order to secure funding for their resistance missions.
The Nitty Gritty
The storyline is linear, but you can take your time meandering along that storyline, popping off to complete side quests and missions that gain you rewards, power-ups and currency with which you can buy upgrades and additional units.
As noted above, the storyline requires some knowledge of previous episodes as some of the characters and villains from previous games make a reappearance, but you should be able to immerse yourself into the game even if you do miss out on some of the references and inside jokes – they will not affect your ability to play and enjoy the game.
This game is predominantly Terran versus Terran with the other two species seeming to be lesser players in the battle, but they do get their big moments in some of the later levels.
Explore the landscape freely and make sure you click on anything that looks interesting – sometimes you might get to enjoy a funny quip or a joke from an NPC or have to tolerate a less than unbiased news broadcast, but you can also win some good advice or even upgrades.
The game progression is well thought-out, with even the training missions serving a purpose in the overall narrative – for example, you take down propaganda posters and the like in the tutorial, at the end of which the newly open-minded population joins you in your mission against Dominion, and their despotic leader, Arcturus Mengsk.
Pro tip: choose some of the upgrades and research paths carefully as some choices are permanent and lock you out of the others, so changing your mind is no longer something you can do. Some also have a knock-on effect on the narrative arc, deciding your course of action some way into the future of the game.
However, you can replay the game later and make different choices. This gives the game great replay value as outcomes, rewards, battles and more are all very different the second time around.
A full single run through is a solid fifteen hours of play time, giving you time to get invested and yet stay engaged – and even engaged enough to run through it again with different options. And of course, you can take a little longer to play through, completing all the missions you are given to earn rewards and benefits that will stand you in good stead.
The cut scenes are excellent, comprehensive and beautifully enacted and voiced, making the gameplay even more of a pleasure to experience.

There are three species in the game, and while this game is mainly Terran, you will you’re your chance to play as both of the others too.

Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty is a great addition to the game’s lineage, allowing fans of the franchise to explore new areas and meet new characters.

very good game, i really enjoyed playing. I played on Starcraft and it's now a pleasure to play the second one. Thanks to instant gaming for those offers, it's very pleasant. I'm going to buy plenty of games :) starcraft was the very first pc game i owned. it was great and this expansion on the starcraft trilogy is amazing. they have balanced known issues and has amazing perks to those who play it avidly. great title, great story line!!! - great graphics

StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty is the next game in the StarCraft series. If you are not familiar with the series, in this game there are 3 races that battle for supremacy: Terrans (basically humans), Zergs (some kind of insect aliens) and Protoss (some kind of robot aliens). As usual, Blizzard did a grat job at making this game and didn't dissapoint us. Both, the campaign and the multiplayer are excelent.
The campaign storyline is thrilling and it is a great experience; you would want to play it more than once. The campaign is played with the Terran race.
The multiplayer is just awesome; the 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 matches are intense, I would recommend you to take a shord breack after each multiplayer game. Also, there is a ranking ladder with 7 rankings (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinium, Diamond, Master and Grandmaster) which will motivate you to play more and more, and better and better.
