Description

Doom for PC is the fourth game in a series and a return to the origins, being a reboot of the highly acclaimed game that is something of the great-great grandpa of modern gaming – the first edition was released on MS-DOS in 1993, shortly after personal computing became widely normalised. There would have been no double click to access the game: instead, commands would have to be typed into DOS to start play, that’s how long ago that was!

About the Game

The player takes on the persona of an unnamed Marine (called, variously: Doomguy, or Marine, or even Doom Slayer) who is tasked with battling the inhabitants of Hell who have been unleashed upon a freshly colonised Mars by the evil antagonist, employee of Union Aerospace Corporation, one Olivia Pierce who has been promised wonderful things by Satan.

Fellow corporation employee, Samuel Hayden wants to stop her – but first he has to uncover her secrets, and for that he needs the Doom Slayer who swings into action, despatching demon after demon as he gets on the case.

Levels follow fairly predictable patterns: beginning with Samuel giving Doom Slayer his orders, and ending with a massive ‘boss battle’-type scene but this adds a reassuring structure to an otherwise zany game in which anything can (and sometimes does) happen.

Best of the Old/ Best of the New

The game has received enormous praise for recapturing the beloved atmosphere of shooter games from the 90s, while combining it with modern graphics and physics engines to satisfy our ever more critical computing tastes: the painfully slow dial-up connections of the 90s would certainly not appeal to today’s gamers!

Many of the weapons, too, have been lifted from the original game for a nostalgic blast, but these too have been upgraded and given new and nasty twists that probably would not have been thought of in the pre-Internet (well, it was there, it just wasn’t all that widely used) days of the 90s. Weapons can be improved and upgraded, so more experienced players have better skills and more powerful weapons: a kind of exponential benefit of playing.

In each level, you will find access to one of the old-school game maps that are hidden until you stumble across them. Once found, they fit themselves into the map menu under the title of ‘classic maps’.

Ways to Play

  • Single player: ‘badass demons, big * guns and moving fast’ is the advice given by the game developers when talking about this mode. Doom Slayer is agile, speedy and facing opponents who are also fast and cunning. He can keep the edge, but only by staying sharp and not letting them overwhelm him or sneak up on him all unawares. There are thirteen maps to play through, but watch out for Ultra Nightmare mode which can lose your save point!

  • Multiplayer: this mode opens up the Doom world to the player with a huge variety of ways to play against other gamers. Deathmatches, freeze tag, King of the Hill and even a Battle Royale style fight to the death are all amongst the offerings in this mode. Winning – even just playing sometimes – awards experience points, these add up to accessing new levels, which unlocks new skins, weapons and other customisation features

  • Level Creation Tool: this mode is called ‘SnapMap’ and it allows players to create, edit and shape levels according to their own preferences and logic. While building the level, the game offers an aerial view, and any missed connections will show up in a different colour, so the connections can be installed. Levels can be test played before they are published

  • Doom for PC is available for purchase on Instant Gaming for a fraction of its retail price. You will receive an official key and be able to play the game in seconds. Play smart. Pay less.

Every time I play this masterpiece I feel testosterone starting boil in my vains. This is one of the manliest game ever made. When you take a super shotgun with double barrel You become a GOD. Nothing can stand in your way. Not even God himself. I will return to to Doom Eternal to become DOOMSLAYER again. To be a MAN.
Game works verry well and the seller was honest selling a real key,

Steam picked the key up really fast and the game is running pretty well on GTX1650 ryzen 5 3600.

    Fps is good and all.

    Love the music
    • my wife didnt left me
    • but my free time sure did
    • update: i ran out of demons...
    • i cant stop killing stuff

Fun gameplay and kickass music, what more can you ask for from Doom?
    • Fun gameplay

It was one of the first games i got a platinum trophy in on playstation. it has been one of my favourite games for a long time. if you are looking for some gore gameplay doom would be the game i would recomend.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GAME EVER. I am a big red dead redemption fan but this is the best game i have ever played. It has so much gore and everything is soo fast i love it absolute game of the year.

This was one of the best games I played during the last 10 years.

It is definitely the must-play for everybody. Bethesda saw us that you don´t need to redefine a game and make it from the ground up in order for it to be successful.
    • Had enough bullets
Amazing Game!!! Spend a lot of time playing it since it's my first time playing a doom game and I completely enjoyed myself playing it! The story was amazing! The gameplay was easier than I thought and there was a good amount of game time to it so totally recommend it!
    • Amazing story
    • Remarkable for it's time!
Best gaming experience I had in 2016!

Refueled my passion for the franchise I went back and bought all the doom games prior to this release.

If you are stressed out and don't have a punching bag just get this game.

Your blood pressure will go down after 5 minutes of gameplay, seriously ;)

We were in a desolate land, with no good fps... And, all of a sudden, the creator, the god of all fps came back. He sat at the table, and showed us what he was capable of, a true prodige, an elaborated game.

a good game where you're a god destroying every ennemy. I never being bored and the game is finished in 20h for the story mod, but with all collectible and the arcade mod I have like 100+ hours and i still have fun.

If the story isn't good don't realy matter BUT when you are in a room locked because you need to listen the scenario and slow the gameplay who make this moment boring (it's like 5 minutes in all story mod and this is avoided in the arcade mod)

Multiplayer is the worst part of the game, sniper are broken and there is a little bit of cheater. It's unplayable.

Above that, the game is one of my favorite because it's one of the most violent, the fasted of fast fps and funny as hell.

    i give him 19/20
    • great gameplay
    • never bored (fast fps)
    • feeling of power
    • the story isn't good (like in all doom)
    • multiplayer isn't funny and not balanced
I have never played any of the original doom games so when I bought this I was shrouded by sceptisim. But lord, was it worth it. This game is the pinnacle of making gamers feel like an absolute badass: shredding through the hordes of hell with a vast plethora of weapons which can be configurable to a dynamic range of scenarios; accompanied by a soundtracks which elevates you onto a plain of Gods, an invincible slayer. The story was very basic and stripped to the core, not making it palpable but this is acceptable as it allows the player to immerse in the ripping and tearing of demons. Honestly, DOOM(2016) was one of the most euphoric and satisfying single player shooters.
    • Wide arsenal of weapons
    • Music is awesome
    • Glory kills animations are spectacular
I played this game as a child and this game reminds me of good events and I love the old school remake games. We played it on some old shool PC and it was after Amiga and Comodore and Duke Nuken some advanture Game.. :)
    • REMAKE
    • OLD SCHOOL
    • FAST
Incredible game play with a decant story. The Doom slayer is badass AF and the demons are no exceptions. only gripe is that the story could have been a tiny bit better and more clear and even thought the combat and glory kills are awesome, they are repetitive with little versatility. The music thought completes it and turns it into one of if not the best fps game from the last decade.
    • Badass demons and slayer
    • Killer music
    • awesome setting
    • Somewhat boring story
    • repetitive gameplay
The best, old school doom experience comes again with this one. Pretty nice game and it is better than the third. The story is it's weak point which the gameplay makes up for it in my opinion. Good fast paced shooter
    • Good shooter
    • Good performance
    • Not really a story
Work very well even on my mid-range rig(gtx 1660+i 7 4770+16gb ram)maxed+max aa many times reaching the 200fps cap ingame.

Good fun gameplay, there is a story. Very cheap. The only con is that some people might not like gory/bloody games like these, if you like to run and gun rip and tear games, this is a huge easy recommendation.
    • Runs extremly well.Gameplay loop.Lenght.Price.Replay value
    • Might be too bloody for some,
    • Bad weapon balance lategame,
    • difficulty is harder early game cause lack of upgrades.
    • None of the cons are major
    • Rare glitches on high fps
This game has a great story love it. and its so much fun especially when you get the chainsaw and the epic music begins while youre on a boss fight. highly recommend it. and the money really is worth it.
    • Adrenalin reiches Game
The game is really good, it has a great story but the multiplayer is a bit lacking if u dont have friends.I found the game really fun in story mode and really good in multiplayer, I preffer to play the full story before going on multiplayer.
    • Good Story
    • Beafutiful Graphics
    • Sci-Fi
    • Cheap on Instant Gaming
    • Available on a lot of devices (pc,nintentdo, xbox)
    • Multiplayer is bad if no friends
    • Need a lot of space
    • Need a beefy computer
    • Expensive on Steam
    • The story ends
I played this game on my friends pc while ago and i was too lazy to buy it so now its the chance.
Even if it´s 2020 or 2016 i still love it. It is one of the best games that i played.
I´m proud to say buy it, if u want to have nice time killing demons
    • Really nice graphics for 2016
    • perfectly balanced as all thing should be
    • perfect atmosphere
    • nothing from my side
once you play doom eternal you can never feel good about playing this. but anyway, its a good game but i'd rather go pick up a copy of doom eternal.go play this if extremely fast paced comabt is NOT your thing.

Actually I'm not the biggest DOOM fan, thats why I rate it with only 90, but, there's a but, the game actually its really fun, mostly I like those collectible minifigures, and to have fun killing those demons who don't knows what to do whit theyre life...

First Doom ever played, i really enjoyed it. The game is full of intense fights. Pretty challenging game. I hightly recomend it if you like heavy metal and destroy the enemy with massive weapons; and a chainsaw... of course.
Love the game play, fast and furious! Player attribute and weapon upgrade system is addictive, always looking for tokens so I can try out the next feature/upgrade on the weapons. Glory kills are a nice touch if you like some gore. A game I will come back to again and again to redo levels andfind EVERY secret.
Running on i7 with GeForce 1050 graphics
    • Runs lovely on medium spec machine
Amazing game. A must-have for any gamer. Even though the game is from 2016, after 4 years, it still holds up pretty well with its amazing graphics, soundtracks and fast paced gameplay mechanics. Definitely reccommend it !!
    • Amazing Graphics
    • Great fast-paced gameplay mechanics
Like killing everything in sight? Like heavy a$s metal? Like feeling like a bada$s?Then this game is for you.‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎
    • Had enough bullets but...
    • Not enough demons
I have to say I was very impressed with this game. It was great fun, fast paced action from start to finish. There are lots of achievements to collect if you are a completionist and you want to extend your play time but otherwise it just a not stop action fest. Story is a bit tongue in cheek but overall interesting, doesn't take its self too seriously. Graphics are good and the game play feels solid. For the $5 odd dollars it is currently going for I would say its a must. Great game.
    • Great fun
    • fast paced
    • decent visuals
    • doesn't take its self too seriously
Fast-paced game with the simplest and smoothest controls. Moments in this game, when you mindlessly shoot at anything that moves, will give you a sense of satisfaction and an adventure of not giving a fk about anything else.

The controls may be simple but the maps and its structures are definitely not. They are so enormous to the point it feels like running in a maze. The game will want you to die and to face as many enemies as possible, there is no time catching a breath.
    • Bosses, different types of enemies, etc.
    • Graphics
    • Smooth controls
    • Map structures
    • Story is not that good comparing it to the quality of gameplay. However this is Doom, there is usually not much needed to know.
This was one of the best games I played during the last 10 years.
It is definitely the must-play for everybody. Bethesda saw us that you don´t need to redefine a game and make it from the ground up in order for it to be successful.

    • Fast
    • Fun
    • Brutal
    • nothing
Gets a bit repetitive, but the ability to splatter all kinds og baddies makes it worth it. Awesome easy gameplay, easy controls, has a bit of Doom-style to it still. Highly recommend if you like to kill aliens in bloody ways.
I love this game, mechanics are excellent, Demon hunting is made so satisfying.
This game is very balanced and will keep you entertained for a long time. There is always right amount of grind, and demons always seem to be strong enough to keep you on edge.
I don't see the point of online features.
    • Excellent graphics
    • Low price
    • There are some bugs for achievements
    • Online fetures
