Description

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is an expansion pack for Destiny 2, the sixth such release. The game is a loot-shooter MMO (massively multiplayer online) game. Following on from the original game, the expansion packs introduce new characters, enhance the roles of supporting characters and take the player to new maps – and this expansion pack is no different.

About the Game

This part of the game universe focuses on the eponymous Witch Queen, Savathun, who is the sister of Oryx, who was the antagonist in one of the previous expansion packs for the original Destiny game. Fun fact: Savathun is ridiculously tall: she is said to be 21 feet tall. That’s four times taller than the average human!

The game is set in Savathun’s Throne World which lies within the Ascendant Realm – a glistening palace in a swampy region, which makes for deliciously atmospheric graphics.

Savathun’s backstory is skilfully woven into the overarching game narrative – she has made earlier appearances and been mentioned in other games and expansions packs, and it is now her time to shine. Savathun, along with her siblings, serves the Hive, an undead race which serves the Worm Gods.

In this game, she has managed to shed her liege to the Hive and is in the running for herself. She is served by her Lucent Brood. They are a new breed of Hive warriors who carry the power of Light. This is unusual and highly concerning, as the Hive usually tends to use Darkness. The Lucent Brood are dark blue and grey and clad in spiky armour.

You are a Guardian, battling these mysteriously very powerful creatures in a bid to thwart Savathun. The Lucent Brood have similar classes and powers to Guardians as well as their above-mentioned newly forged Light powers, all of which will terrify a sensible Guardian!

Remember at all times that Savathun lies and thrives on deceit. As one of the Guardians you must seek the truth, as well as finding out how Savathun and her Lucent Brood managed to master the Light and become so very powerful.

The Nitty Gritty

As well as known and familiar weapons, this game introduces the glaive, a new first-person melee weapon which has a lot of defensive capabilities. It also offers Guardians the chance to unleash ‘powerful melee combos, fire projectiles, and deploy a powerful energy shield’. In addition to this, your personal glaive can be customised and upgraded, as needed and desired.

In customisation, you will choose the level you want to play at, with Legendary the highest setting and most the challenging level to play. Seasonal games occur from time to time, so make sure you keep checking back for new skins, weapons and more.

The game uses powers like Slow, Freeze and Shatter to introduce an element of more intense challenge into the game, and there are three debuffs to look out for (or deploy) which are tied to Void powers: Suppress, Weaken, Volatile, and three more accompanying buffs: Overshield, Invisibility and Devour. Learn how to dodge these when deployed by villains, and how to use them when you need to, for an extra edge during gameplay.

Who’s Destiny is Who!

Savathun’s family is quite extensive…

  • Father: Osmium King, he is part of the Hive

  • Sister: Shivu Arath, and also the God of War (talk about the possibility of serious sibling rivalry here!)

  • Brother: Oryx who had four biological children and one adoptee (all of whom play their own part in the Destiny universe). He is also known as the Taken King

  • Balwur: Savathun’s daughter

  • Malok; her son: also called Pride of Oryx

  • Daughter: Dul Incaru: the Eternal Return

  • Destiny: The Witch Queen is a worthy expansion of the Destiny lineage, opening up unexplored worlds and providing a villain with depth and intelligence to battle.

Quick and Easy. Code worked with no problems. It's really worth it, one reason being that deals for d2 DLC's are not often on sale, and the other is that it has a good deal/sale for anyone game that you are looking for.
5 star service as always, fast delivery.

As for the game, it's a good game, but honestly u need to have too much time to play it, u get tons of content at the beginning of every dlc and then u don't have no content for the rest of the year also you must play with friends, otherwise, u will get bored rlly soon

Fantastic, really enjoyed playing this with friends! In the beginning we tried playing this in Legendary difficulty and 3 hours later we still hadn't finished the first bloody mission. But we had a lot of fun regardless.
    • A lot of fun
    • Very good content
    • Difficult to circumnavigate if you don't 100% know what you're doing

Really enjoying the content! Definitely worth the price for 50% Cheaper! Already have a hundred hours and have not finished the campaigns! If you enjoyed any of their previous DLC this is one of their greatest!
Wow, so many things have changed.

I was enjoying the free version and decided to buy the WQ expansion. The problem is, I live in Japan and the exchange rate is so bad right now. If I would have bought it anywhere at normal retail, I would have been paying the equivalent of about $125-130. I came upon Instant Gaming and paid the equivalent of $59!

Great game and super great price! Thanks, Instant Gaming! Can't wait till my next purchase... hopefully the exchange rate will be better ;)
I have been playing Destiny since the last beta of Destiny 1 and my relationship can be a little rocky, as much as I love the game it could be so much better. That being said this DLC was amazing it brought a spark back alive in this game I have never been so excited to see where this game will go! The changes they have made are a great step and this DLC is akin to Forsaken and The Taken King, I would say better than those too the story was amazing in this DLC I love the new raid, crafting and Void 3.0 give it a nice refreshing zest that the game needed and I can't wait for solar and arc 3.0!
    • Story is the best it's ever been.
    • Void 3.0 (Free no DLC required)
    • The Raid.
    • Weapon crafting leaves a little to be desired (They are adding more weapons as we go)
    • Gambit reworks are laughably bad (I did enjoy gambit before the changes)
DECENT DLC RAIND WAS GOOD STORY WAS GOOD EVENTS WERE DECENT.EXOTICS WERE FUN ADN SEASONS WERE ALLRIGT AND IT GOT BORING ABOUNT 100H IN THERE IS TO PLAY IN FUTURE MONTHS HELL YEH,............................
Quick, clean, easy.. What more can you want. Delivered instantly, key works perfectly. In and out. Easy... Perfect transaction, wish all had this respond time. Product is as advertised. No hidden ketches..
    • 100%
    • nothing
It's really worth it if you actually love the game. I'm really excited to play the new expansion and just hope that there's a lot of new and broken weapons we can get. Really excited for the weapon crafting too, definitly will remove that sweet RNG we all love in Destiny.
    • New stuff to do
    • Kinda expensive, but still worth it in my opinion
