Stellaris for PC is a 4X real-time strategy game: 4X meaning explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate which refers to the actions taken by the characters in order to achieve the aims of the game, whether they are gathering valuable resources, claiming new territories, or simply kicking enemy butt.
About the Game
There are eight species from which the player can choose, and the strategic thinking should be applied right from the start. Some species are better with some pathways than others: for example, warlike races are unlikely to make good spiritual pacifists just as ethereal beings are unlikely to be able to swing a hefty weapon with any great authority! See more about the races below.
The player joins their species of choice very shortly after the invention of faster-than-light (FTL) travel has dramatically expanded their options. You can choose to be a peaceful explorer, sharing resources and information as you go, or you can be completely blood-thirsty, besting every other being you come across.
Whichever way you choose to play, there are pathways to be followed: from building military might to learning farming skills, to playing politics in order to get what you need. For example, you can land on a new planet and take their resources by force, or you can form an alliance or bartering system to get hold of those resources peacefully.
Amongst the pathways to be followed and expanded there is science, construction and vehicle building, all of which can help you no matter how militant or pacifist you have decided to be.
Technology is Available: For Some!
AI and robotic technology is available, but if you are a pacifist and spiritual species you will not be able to enjoy these. Instead, landing on any planet that already has this technology will see it being dismantled or decommissioned in favour of raising temples and other spiritually relevant buildings.
Politics comes into play too: authoritarian regimes will not permit democratic elections to be held, while materialistic races cannot bar the creation and sale of robots. As mentioned above, this means that you must make good choices early on in the game in order to enjoy the facets of worldbuilding that you enjoy the most in your game.
A Rundown of Races
Arthropoid (insectile): the thought of playing as a sort of giant insect might be unappealing until you think about some of the positives: the endless indestructibility of cockroaches, the beauty (and wings) of butterflies, and even the tank-like structure of a beetle
Avian (birdlike): these delicate looking beings pack more punch than you’d think at first glance. And anyway, who doesn’t want to play as a massive penguin or super-powerful platypus?
Fungoid : mushrooms are fun guys. That’s it. That’s all that needs to be said here
Humanoid: within the umbrella of humanoid, you can find a wealth of different features, strengths and powers, linked solely by the basic design of two arm, two legs, and a head, all attached to a torso in more or less the same recognisable order. Pick your favourite from the variations on offer, and then train them up your own way
Mammalian: play as any of your favourite animals: or even mix and match characteristics from different creatures until you achieve your perfect designer beast
Molluscoid (invertebrate): these fascinating creatures will allow you to squeeze into small spaces, hide from enemy eyes and enjoy a whole raft of tricksy traits as you explore the furthest reaches of the galaxy
Reptilian: force aliens to bow down to your crocodilish overlord, recreate the dinosaurs or simply enjoy basking with the might offered by these war-like races
Plantoid (this last was added as DLC after the initial release): want to take things slow and chilled? Maybe enjoy some zen meditation? Then a plantoid (meaning of or like plants) is the race you want to be
Stellaris for PC is available for purchase on Instant Gaming for a fraction of its retail price. You will receive an official key and be able to play the game in seconds. Play smart. Pay less.

After 3 install, it does'nt work, the launcher freeze while 30min. I got a recent PC and enough strong to run the game. There are so many ways to fix it, i tried and abandonned.
Too much disappointment

Very interesting and complex game, certainly not suited for a newbie in strategy games. Hours will pass and you will not notice it.
Probably the most awesome game of this style i have tried in years: there is always something new to learn, the tech tree is nearly infinite, customizing your race to start taking over the galaxy is really fun, kinda like building your character in an RPG game, even though this is a strategy game, and the space battles are just incredible.

This is a fun past time game that turned into a very intricate and time consuming play! Its command and conquer style is very fun, the governing and settlement building is very fun. The race to explore and take over worlds before other races is always fun and challenging! Its crusader kings in space!
Lots to do and manage
very intricate
Governing and polotics
time consuming
not a whole lot of mods

Always loved the strategic type of games, let alone the ones that can be played in space.
Harder to learn without guide, but nothing is impossible, and google is our friend :D.
Fairly good amount of content (but DLC's are welcome), the gameplay quickly got you in, so prepare for a longer session.
For me it is also really fun with friends, and with steam workshop the possibilites are endless.
Good game for a good price :).
Lot of content
Good gameplay
Fair price
Lack of guide

it's great, really cheap in comparison to the original price and received it immediately after and the fact that it's a really great game makes it better...............................................

Now stellaris is the definition of good soup. If the soup is setting the galaxy on fire to see what happens and good is the utter carnage you can wreck on any empire. Stellaris is a strategy game similar to hearts of iron but in space so the possibility is infinite
Endless amount of galaxy domination
Great mod support
Being a cult that purifies and worships planets and much more
a lot of pain dlc
a lot of time investment to see endgame
a lot of micromanagment

Very interesting and complex, certainly not suited for a newbie in strategy games. Stellaris is probably the most awesome game i've tried in years: there is always something new to learn, the tech tree is nearly infinite, customizing your race to start taking over the galaxy is really fun, kinda like building your character in an RPG game, even though this is a strategy game, and the space battles are just incredible. Plus, if you ever got to build a titan and use it...oh, man! I just can put down in words the feeling of destroying a planet like Tarkin did in SW...you will have to try it yourself.
Only one flow: it's reeeeally difficult to understand. It lacks a guide, so you will need a few days to finally keep up the pace with AI, but once you do you are probably ready to get to the end game. I recommend to buy some DLC too, they are really worth it.
Complex
Captivating
Good graphics
Enduring, there is always some other combination that you didn't tried
Lack of a Guide, for a game this complex it would have really helped.

Best 4X Strategy in space in my opinion.
Great value for money but you need the DLC to have a complete experience.
Early and mid-game you can role-play and craft a story but in late-game is a bit of a micromanagement nightmare and lacks concrete goals to achieve.
The game got a lot fo updates that changed the way it's being played.

Among the top-5 5€ i ever spent on anything. Very fun game with great replay value. You get the most enjoyment out of the game if you play with friends. You have almost endless oportunities and it never got boring.

I honestly haven't been able to stop playing this, I have over a thousand hours and and well on my way to two thousand with the constantly up to date content and endless RP possibility for empire building.
Nearly endless replayability
Games take a long time to finish

Fun 4X game. First one I've played and it was simple enough with a short guide to get started and have fun. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is starting to play 4X games for the first time, or anyone that is a 4X vet, as I believe they'd also have a significant amount of fun with the game.
Late game feels amazing
Extremely fun with friends
Early game is a slogfest

Was die DLCs angeht.

Echtzeit
Erweiterund des Teritoriums nur mit Aussenposten.

... I'm in love with it - Can't say much else - The game is a great realtime strategy game which allows you to play with your friends, the game is very well made, and can have many different ways of playing, in my opinion the game is one of my favourites
Love it

Great game with loads of content, and many interesting ways to play: Anything from peace-loving xenophiles through gestalt hiveminds and genocidal dictatorships in good old WH40K style. Anyone who like games such as Homeworld and Galactic civilizations will love this.
Steam workshop fills in the blanks where the devs haven't reached yet.
Loads of content.
Few bugs
Allows genocides of filthy xenos.
Too time consuming for multiplayer.
AI is easy to exploit once you realize how.
Repetative music (redeemed by steam workshop)

univers passionnant
late game décevant

A good game, but still did not live up to Imperium Galactica 2 in my eyes :( If they shipped it with the Dlc's im prety sure about it would be the best 4x strategy game ever... The detail and the variety you are offered is a nice start tough, so lets wait for the diplomatic and economic Dlc's that will surely come soon.
Variety of Species
Technology
The atmosphere of the game because of the care for the details.

Good game, shallow. Should be fixed by 'freelc' as they call it thesedays, which they just announced, how lucky for us. >_>
Basically game is front loaded, so all the fun happens early on and then it just completely drops off a cliff.
Great early game
Great music
Boring mid-game
Sector system is bugged to hell and back
Combat is lopsided and unbalanced
