• If your current system is running a “Home” version of the Win7, Win8.1, or Win10 (trial), you will have to use a “Home” Win10 key to activate it.
• Upgrading to Windows 10 from Win7 or Win8.1: Make a full backup (recommended by Microsoft)
• Download this tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
• Run the tool and follow the steps cautiously, but don’t activate the code yet, skip that step for now.
• Once the OS has been installed, open “Settings” then click on “Update and Security” and finally choose “Activation”
