I will recommend this game to anybody who likes metroidvanias and doesn't mind them being souls-like difficulty.

The game has a fairly dark story with lovecraftian themes and very little of it is predictable. I don't want to spoil the story so: lovecraft/existential horror. Even if you don't play this game, I would recommend checking out the lore videos if you're into that.

It's clear devs put in a lot of love in this game and about a year after I bought it fixed a lot of issues plaguing the game at the time, so there's that too.

I've played every game in the series and I've only been disappointed twice, by the 2 VR titles that feel like lazy fan projects.

If you like the music and rhythm games in general, you'll like this one.

Mapping is always tight, although I will say, if you feel the beat well, easy mode is actually hardest to play because easy mode skips beats and actually makes the mapping feel wrong.

Difficulty options are there and are pretty nice. Easy mode is not something I would recommend unless you are completely green. Other modes have something for everyone.

Keep in mind if you're new to the series you might take some time to get used to some of the inputs. Trigger button and multi-button inputs are not very intuitive as they pop on your screen.

Only real downsides are the performance dips, which are unacceptable for a rhythm game of all things. While not universal they are not uncommon. I tested this game on 2 PCs and didn't get them. A friend sent me footage of his screen and the stutter was apparent. Steam reviews mention this problem a lot.

Close to 10/10. In my opinion the only things holding it back are the fact it's still in development (some areas in the world cannot be accessed) and odd pacing, where start is hard and later game gets easy.

Good game, but not a big improvement over any of the previous games and that's why I rate it lower.

If you own any of the previous games past 2nd there's very little reason (other than new characters) to go towards this one.

They removed feature somewhere down the line. For example: togglable awakened states were removed for some of the weaker characters that only had slow melee ranged attacks.

Obviously, if you don't own any of the games get the newest one.

It's a very unique game. If you're not put off by roguelikes, try it and if you don't like it TRY DIFFERENT CLASSES!

You're placed in a randomly generated areas, which are not very unique, but the sandbox mechanics and options each class offers carry this game very far.

At the moment it is very grindy and dependent on having a team, rather than using matchmaking(people leave or outright sabotage teams by not knowing ins and outs). Gameplay is okay, but you're forced to grind ~3 hour long game sessions so much it turns old really fast.
